The history of the brand is pretty much unclear. Recently it was established that the company acquired the brand in 1936. As to the so called famous Marquis Rafael Gonzalez, whose name appears on the boxes, the person never existed. In 1940 the brand name is converted to Flor de Rafael Gonzalez. Absent from the market for a few year. The brand reappeard in 1965.
